Aerobatics - This is how professional pilots fly: loopings, turns, reels & sImmelmanns
Advanced pilots usually already practice aerobatic figures, the premier class of model flying. This requires some knowledge of RC sport and of course a lot of skill. Below is a list of the most important figures:
o Looping: Here a vertical circle is flown up or down. A distinction is also made between inside looping and outside looping, depending on whether the cabin is inside the circle or facing outwards.
o Turn: The aircraft is steered upwards into a vertical flight position at highspeed. Gravity then causes the speed to drop. Now the RC plane is turned with the rudder around the vertical axis by 180 °. This takes place at an extremely slow speed, i.e. almost at a standstill. After the rotation, the model airplane now flies vertically downwards and then returns to the horizontal position from the start.
o Role: The pilot rotates his RC flight model at a 360 ° angle around its longitudinal axis (gymnasts call it "twist"). This is generated by operating the aileron. He also keeps the direction and height of the flight, which is achieved with the elevator.
o Immelmann: This figure is named after a German pilot and is also known as an upswing. The Immelmann is made up of half a rollover and an immediately following role. From the horizontal position, the remote-controlled aircraft is flown with half a roll over to the supine position. This is followed by half the role of the RC model airplane
